The word GOZO in Spanish means to ‘…find joy in the storm.’ People who possess this quality have an undeniable impact on the world. The mission of The Gozo Foundation is to recognize healthcare workers with this spark and facilitate ways to turn their impact into a ripple effect for the community the serve.
The Gozo Foundation was established in 2019, as a 501-C(3), non-profit organization. Our goal is to reward healthcare professionals who use their "gozo" to help their patients and community. We have grown relationships with physical therapy organizations and schools in the United States and Guatemala, providing scholarships, supplies, and education opportunities.
The Gozo Foundation supports healthcare professionals who use their spark to go above and beyond to help ts. We also assist in education and supply opportunities in areas of need.
The Gozo Foundation was founded in 2019 by Daniel and Melissa Jennings, after Melissa, a physical therapist, returned from accompanying physical therapy students on a medical mission to Guatemala. During the trip, the group collaborate with local physical and occupational therapists. Despite barriers in language, education, and background, there was a common spark of joy amongst all the clinicians. So...we decided to figure out a way to support programs to foster this spark of joy or as we now call it "gozo."
